satis&fy Berlin celebrates its 10th anniversary

Ten years ago satis&fy AG opened a branch in Berlin. Today this is an established major player in the capital’s competitive event industry which annually organizes 500 events and is the exclusive and preferred partner for technical and architectural event realization in numerous event locations.

On January 15, 2006, satis&fy Berlin, the fourth branch of satis&fy AG, opened its doors in the Schlesische Straße in Berlin’s trendy Kreuzberg district. Today, the listed factory complex which formerly included a shellac factory, houses only the company’s offices. The company warehouse was originally in the basement and was extended with a further warehouse in the Bouchéstraße before moving to the Nobelstraße in Neukölln in 2015 to create space for the increased material stock and employees.

“We had the initial ideas for an office in the capital already in 2001 but this had to develop,” says Patric Schmidt, Managing Director of the branch. In 2006 the office was then set up after the German Historical Museum requested a local contact partner. The number of projects in Berlin was also increasing on a daily basis. Uwe Buhrdorf, the Frankfurt project manager at the time, went to Berlin as managing director where he was responsible for the fortunes of the branch, which today has more than 90 employees, until he left the company in 2015. “Uwe Buhrdorf played an important role in the successful development of satis&fy on the Berlin market and the company’s successive development,” says Schmidt whose goal is “to continue to offer our customers in and around the capital a first class service with start-of-the-art technology and comprehensive consulting.” A high quality standard has always been firmly established in the company’s work practice.

The branch has done well already from the outset. Many events are annually organized here for example the presentation ceremony of the Sports Stars on behalf of the Federal Association of German Cooperative and Local Rural Credit Cooperative Banks. In the past few months events have also been organized for the Urlaubspiraten travel website, the HRS hotel website and car manufacturer Rolls Royce. Furthermore, the branch’s orders have also included the pop-up concept Prêt A Diner, the presentation of the fragrance stars, the technical realization of the Turkish Airlines Euroleague Final Four Fanzone and, most recently, the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week closing gala. satis&fy has also set trends in the capital’s cultural highlights and overseen festivals such as Berlin Atonal, the club transmediale music festival and the Asian Hot Shots film festival.

However, the key area of specialization of the Berlin branch has always been location supervision and this has, meanwhile, developed into its own business unit: Location Partnership Services. From 2008 to 2015, for example, the company was the regular technical partner of the Axica congress and conference center. Further successful partnerships since then have included the Museum of Communication, the Museum of Natural History, the Classic Remise, the Adagio, the Admiralspalast, the Arminius market hall as well as the Kraftwerk and the Westhafen Event & Convention Center (WECC). Since the beginning of the year the Motorwerk event location has also been working with satis&fy as regular technical partner.

Now the Berlin branch of satis&fy AG recently celebrated its 10-year anniversary with a big employee summer party on July 17, 2016.
