satis&fy’s revenue rises sharply in fiscal 2009/2010 – Order books are well filled – Successful subsidiaries in Berlin and Werne

satis&fy AG Deutschland, a leading provider of event equipment and fair construction services headquartered in Karben, closed out the 2009/2010 fiscal year with a sharp rise in revenue from the previous year. According to the most recent calculations, revenue was up from 23.9 million euros in 2009 to 30.4 million euros in 2010, with EBITDA rising more than 11%. This constitutes a 32% increase in revenue. And with that, satis&fy is again approaching its 2008 record high of 34.4 million euros. “Without a doubt, the global economic and financial crisis hit us hard. It was a bit of a blow but not a battering because we had done our homework in the preceding years," notes satis&fy CEO Nico Ubenauf. “We were able to mitigate the drop in revenues by reducing working hours and deferring wages. Employees were kept and layoffs avoided," adds Ubenauf.

satis&fy took the opportunity presented by the crisis to reexamine its workflows and put new support structures into place. According to Ubenauf, counter-cyclical investments proved to be the most important revenue driver. Having leveraged more than six million euros over the last two years to extend and upgrade its equipment pool, the company is planning to invest further in new rental gear. The recovery from the crisis of 2009 would appear to be complete. Ubenauf is optimistic about the future. The start into the new fiscal year has succeeded. As it stands now, demand for 2011 looks to be more than satisfying.

Customers have committed to several large projects, including the annual Nike Sales Meeting to be held by the sports equipment manufacturer in Las Vegas next week. Just recently the company made the winning pitch to provide technical and creative services in support of Ergo Versicherungsgruppe’s annual kick-off convention at Frankfurt in January 2011. Further productions such as the German Sustainability Award ceremony in Düsseldorf are in the offing.

The subsidiaries in the Westphalian town of Werne and Berlin are also, alongside the Karben headquarters, driving forces behind the company’s good order situation. satis&fy Werne, for example, has enjoyed success in the touring business. Some of the high-profile projects include supporting the Norwegian pop group A-ha’s worldwide farewell tour, blues rocker Joe Cocker’s European tour, and Fantastischen 4’s tour of Germany. satis&fy Werne also provided technical support and services for major productions such as the RUHR 2010 show and various big-name car manufacturers’ kick-off events.

The Berlin branch has forged a number of alliances in recent years. It cooperates closely with the MOSKAU event location, the multiple award-winning axica meeting and congress center, and the Berlin Olympic Stadium. satis&fy Berlin also helped stage the Berlinale, the Energy Day event, and the Pipeline of Health roadshow currently underway. The latter is sponsored by the German Association of Research-based Pharmaceutical Companies.

satis&fy AG Deutschland has earned a top spot among European providers of event technology with its ability deliver a one-stop solution. This end-to-end offering encompasses lighting, audio, video, presentation, and stagecraft technology and services. The production company also constructs exhibition stands, and offers set, graphic, and 3D animation design services, as well as furniture rentals. Its equipment and materials pool is one of Europe’s largest. The event service provider’s holistic approach and full-service offering, all from a sole source, are among its greatest strengths. Headquartered in Karben, the enterprise employs more than 260 people. It maintains further branches in the Westphalian town of Werne and, since 2006, in Berlin. A subsidiary company operates in the Netherlands.
