satis&fy joined LIVE EARTH in Hamburg

.At the worldwide biggest concert to solve the climate crisis. LIVE EARTH satis&fy was involved at the German concert in Hamburg.

satis&fy was responsible for the sound in the stadium as well as for the handover of all sound-signals to the broadcast vans.

3 and a half trailers full of equipment for the PA-system, monitoring and consoles were shuttled to Hamburg. The big challenge was the whole logistics: 20 bands performed in 9 hours! All acts had to perform in-time, delays were not possible.

In the run-up to the concert all requirements had to be clarified ‘en detail’ and an exact input-list was prepared. Three audio mixing desks were used: one desk for the performing band, one desk stand-by for the following act and the third desk was already prepared for the upcoming band. Only Shakira and Yusuf Islam had the possibility for a sound-check – all other band were blind-checks.

To shorten the time between the different bands satis&fy organized a ‘band-production-line’ backstage. During the performing acts individual roll-riser were prepared in that line. Drums, further backline and microphones were wired and finalized. After an exact line-check of all channels the risers were in stand-by position to roll out on stage. This guaranteed an accurate run of show. Just for that part eight sound technicians and a dozen stagehands were busy backstage.

With a two day set up, a tight show day and a following nightshift for the tear down the satis&fy crew of 20 pax was proud to contribute to the LIVE EARTH concert.
