Nike European Sales Meeting Held in Orlando, FL
For five days, at the end of November, 1,200 attendees experienced a great mix of product presentations and entertainment by sportswear manufacturer NIKE.
A long-time client of satis&fy, NIKE asked the company to transform the JW Marriott and Ritz-Carlton hotels at Grande Lakes Orlando into a NIKE sales arena. In addition to providing audiovisual support and coordination, satis&fy was in charge of handling NIKE’s inventory. In total, 12 sea containers were shipped from Europe, one of which held 289 body forms. The 17 satis&fy team members from Europe were supported by 12 local vendors and their staff. At times, more than 130 people were employed to support the 24th NIKE sales meeting.
Get ready for kick-off
At last year’s sales meeting, one great opening show was held to kick off the event. This year, every morning started with a different media production kick-off. To make this work well, the main element of the 200’ wide stage was a curtain of 96 FLEX LED-50 chains – a custom product created by satis&fy. With the curtain in place, NIKE’s goal of having a transparent, video-capable backdrop was realized. In addition to the daily main show, there were thematic presentations of the NIKE collections on several side stages.
Virtual highlight
One of the highlights during a morning presentation featured a 3D projection of the new Ronaldinho shoe accompanied by live presenters. Using a complex technique, mainly seen on MTV and in international fashion shows, the live presenters were able to interact with the three-dimensional holograms.
Easy workout
In addition to providing audiovisual support for the general session, satis&fy equipped 30 meeting rooms with multiple equipment such as:
- Projection and flat screens
- 436 ARRI Junior fresnels
- 100 ETC S4
- 90 audio cabinets
- 40 wireless combo microphones by Shure
- 1,800’ of Expotruss and 2,300’ of 12” LD truss
Catwalks, driving simulators, winner podiums and several staging elements completed the picture. Last year just a prototype, the new merchandising system was installed by satis&fy’s specialists and used in every meeting room this year.
To support those doing presentations, an on-site editing suite and a fully-equipped production suite was established offering PowerPoint and graphics support.
Working around the clock
Not only were satis&fy’s technicians busy around the clock, but the scenic department was on duty 24/7. Alongside the convention center were two storage tents and an 8,000 square feet shop tent was erected to cover all on-site needs such as 3D lettering, vinyl plots and cut outs, graphics, displays and other decorative items (i.e. 350 golden custom picture frames). Overall, more than 60,000 square feet of fabric and 680 graphics were put to use to successfully complete the project.
