NIKE Premier Cup in Manchester 2007

Twenty teams from around the world participated in the world finals for the 2007 NIKE Premier Cup in Manchester. And, for the 10th consecutive year, satis&fy was the event production company selected to produce the event as well as maintain and store the Premier Cup inventory.

The tournament took place at the Manchester United training pitches in Carrington. This hall was not designed for an event and therefore, required a long list of unusual approvals before getting started. Once production began, extra precautions were required of the on-site crew. For example, 800 square meters of the Astroturf needed to be covered with the understanding that no metal objects would be left behind. Therefore, to ensure that no screws or objects were present – once dismantled – the grounds were scanned with a metal detector.

During the tournament four pitches were in use. Each pitch was equipped with event-specific field boards, banners, team-tents and scoreboards. The catering station, games area and players’ chill-out-zone were all situated at the Armitage.

The sports hall was decorated with white perimeter drape, graphics and banners. To create a special atmosphere, ceiling sails were installed in the main room accompanied by hanging truss boxes draped with muslin CS and illuminated with washlights. The lighting system was designed to be suitable for the closing and awards ceremonies which were also held in the main room.
