From Frankfurt to Bejing
Technical Masterpiece: Special-event tech production expert satis&fy, based in Frankfurt, created large Hospitality- and Media-Lounge for sporting goods giant Nike in run-up to Olympics
When the 29th Olympic games opened in Beijing on August 8th, satis&fy AG Deutschland (satis&fy), based in Frankfurt/Main, already did a good job. Within three and a half weeks the special event expert built a Hospitality- and Media-lounge in Beijings downtown Dong Dan Park for American sporting goods giant and outfitter of the Chinese Olympic team Nike. The 6.600 sq yds Dong Dan sporting area was redesigned almost entirely by a 24-man crew.
satis&fy installed room-in room-concepts into sports halls, built storage areas at adjoining basketball- and soccer-fields, set up marquee areas, placed portable kitchen container, adapted technical conditions like power supply and air condition, installed video surveillance systems and wired up the complete event area. Furthermore the production company refurbished staircases and restrooms. Outside of the sporting park the event supplier built a retailer lounge and a setup for the US-Basketball team. Support for satis&fy came from local and international companies; at times up to 100 people were deployed on site. Bureaucratic hurdles were not making operations easier. “Delivery of goods was only possible between midnight and 6 a.m. for example. Thus we were busy around the clock”, explains Sebastian Hofeditz, satis&fy project manager. Particularly the longevity of the approval process for redesigning of Dong Dan Park asked for patience and stamina. “For a long time it was uncertain if we could begin with constructions and reconstructions at all. At times it looked like we had to switch to another venue.” Hofeditz reports. As a result for two weeks the event experts had to plan for two venues to be able to rapidly switch the implementation to another possible location.

The services cover lighting, audio, audiovisual and staging technology. Exhibitry, decoration, graphic and 3D animations make the picture complete.
