satis&fy Displays at World of Events
LED-back wall is optical highlight at the company’s fair stand
In January 2009, satis&fy AG Deutschland (satis&fy) exhibited – for the first time – at the World of Events (WoE) in Wiesbaden. The international company’s own construction crew designed and created an 80 square meter fair stand.
Creative LED in focus
The main focus of the multimedia production and core element of the fair stand was a large LED back wall, almost 25 square meters, made of 120 Creativ-LED modules LED-Stick 25. The entire LED installation was covered with anthracite-coloured translucent foil. This made the LED pixels visible only when active and created a non-technical, clean architectural look. When not active, the LED back wall simply appeared to be part of the existing stage design. At eye level, it integrated three additional 52” FullHF LCD screens (NEC LCD 5220). The appearance of these screens was a seamless part of the LED wall. When active, the screens displayed not only artificial LED pixels, but also real pictures in high resolution. “Each picture switched colour, brightness or size according to the LED pixels,” explained Markus Berger, head of Video—2 Support at satis&fy. A bar and launching area were also erected in front of the LED back wall.
Concept for exhibition works out
Three wood-encased columns were successful eye-catchers at the company’s stand. The columns included nine integrated upright 42” plasma screens. In order to control the media elements, satis&fy applied a combination of Dataton WatchOut systems and vvvv-programming (the latter was a visual programming tool developed internally by the company). Previously, at the IMEX 2008, satis&fy premiered this exhibition design and received some welcoming feedback. One challenge satis&fy’s building crew faced for the World of Events exhibition was customizing the 20 square meter base to the desired 80 square meters presentation ground. “We found an attractive solution by integrating the large LED screen with the bar and lounge area. It really just fit neatly into the overall picture of our stand,” explained Nico Ubenauf, satis&fy’s CEO. “The LED wall had an impressive effect even when viewed from a distance. We heard that the combination of high-resolution Creativ-LED and fine-resolution LCD displays was talked about among attendees.”
In addition to their own fair stand, satis&fy was also asked to create the exhibits for the event equipping company PartyRent; Düsseldorf’s study institute IST; and the Congress Center Darmstadium.
