VW Utility Vehicles
A fitting showcase for the new Crafter
Volkswagen Utility Vehicles presented its new Crafter model to dealers, sales staff, and customers in Berlin from May 29 to June 25, 2011. satis&fy was tasked to build the booth and provide all the furnishings and appointments for an international launch event that brought more than 6,000 participants to Berlin. The inspiration for the booth’s design and the presentation’s underlying concept was provided by the Essen-based agency “imagepeople GmbH”http://www.imagepeople.de/. A 20-member satis&fy team staffed with project managers, stand fitters, interior decorators, and helpers spent six days on site setting up the event.
The tasks performed by satis&fy were many, to include encasing all the walls in white cotton cloth, putting up the signage for the event location, and constructing the stage. A 90-square-meter stage built by satis&fy provided the platform for the new van’s daily presentations. The Crafter had to pass through an 11×5-meter backdrop to reach the stage so satis&fy built a sliding door and encased it in a stretch fabric one. The stage setup also featured two 5×3.75-meter rear projection screens. Beyond that, satis&fy installed smaller stages and seating in several workshop rooms and put up a check-in-counter in the welcome area. The crew put up standalone walls and hung drapes to screen off areas and partition rooms. The evening events were held at another a location that satis&fy had transformed into a remarkably authentic American diner with neon advertising signs on the walls, wood fans on the ceiling, a foosball table, darts, and a pinball machine. Custom-made by satis&fy, the photographic wall mural depicting the Crafter with a cutout at cab level was a big hit with the guests.
