Nike Women Spring Collection 2009
satis&fy proves satisfaction with creative design and stage set-up
On October 8th, Nike Sports Company presented their new Women Spring Collection to the international press in Stockholm. The main organizers were the local ‘Delight Studios’. For eight years, the German production company satis&fy has been in charge of the technical and design planning as well as the implementation for this grand fashion event.
Over 70 journalists from all over the world attended this fashion show taking place in exclusive studios in downtown Stockholm. The evening was filled with a variety of highlights such as a press conference, a fashion show, product presentation by famous athletes, and a one hour fitness workout. On top of this people got free foot massages and pedicures. The one-day press event was framed by a colourful CI-like scenery planned and designed by satis&fy.
Colors, Colors, Colors
The next spring with Nike is going to be more colorful, more crazy and more youthful. This motto was implemented right on in designing the event’s premises in a color-intense style. The color green was the main theme on stage. The 7 × 7 meter wall did not only serve as the stage background but was also quite an eye-catch. It was decorated with colourful product samplers from the new collection as well as the Nike product logo and event motto ‘Here I am’ made out of oversized Styrofoam letters. There was a thorough discussion beforehand on how to design the stage. ‘The Nike Chef-designer had explained to us what he would like to do. We then made suggestions on how to implement these ideas technically. In preparing for this event we had to be very creative and we got engaged in this job not only technically but also contributing much to the context’, said satis&fy product leader Marc Spangenberg.
Multimedial Support
In the centre of the stage back wall a 2,70 × 3,50 meter screen was set up to project power-point presentations onto during talks. Most of it was provided by satis&fy. ‘Many of the speakers handed in their talks just shortly before event started. That left us only with little time to create the charts”, says Spangenberg pointing out the endeavours of making all this happen smoothly.

One of the tasks of satis&fy was to build up the 2 × 6 meter sized stage and a catwalk of 6 meter length. Satis&fy arranged 70 chairs in red, yellow, white and blue in the projection room. They set up a number of G40 walls posting large, colourful, in-house made label-proof digital prints. The changing rooms for the models were also designed by satis&fy including typical grey steel lockers, seating benches and coat racks. The foot salon was furnished with comfortable lounge chairs, and white colored side tables. ‘The nice thing about this event was that we were able to implement our ideas as we wanted to, just in the sense of our one-stop-solution-philosphy. Nike gave us all the way credit for it’ concludes the 40-year old project leader.
