New apprentices for satis&fy
On August 1st, 2019 satis&fy kicked off a new year to onboard trainees. A total of 22 trainees started their careers at four different locations. satis & fy is one of the industry's leading training companies and currently employs a total of 62 trainees. They all are getting trained in nine different departments.
The Berlin location is pleased to welcome a total of six new employees, two of them are completing their training as an event technology specialist. A forwarding and logistics services clerk, a warehouse logistics specialist and an office management clerk will also be trained. Furthermore, for the first time, the branch in Berlin is training an apprentice as a personnel services clerk. The Werne branch is also receiving newcomers with one event management assistant and three specialists for event technology. The Düsseldorf office is having a trainee who gets trained to be an event management assistant. Last but not least the head office in Karben is getting two event management assistants, three specialists for event technology, two designers for visual marketing, one media designer for image and sound, two specialists for warehouse logistics and one IT specialist.
Exhausting first days
After two introduction days at their respective locations, all trainees went to Karben for their second week to receive more tainting. During this week they not only got to know the management, but also all trainers and colleagues. In addition to the traditional tour of the company, there were presentations by the various departments and many other important topics were pointed out which all served as an introduction to the company. The newcomers were made familiar with all the tools for their daily work in small in-house training courses and learn a lot about the company culture and the values that are lived at satis&fy. During the introductory week satis&fy also promotes team-building measures. A small, individual film project which the trainees have to accomplish is also part of the introductory week. The teamwork tested during this project is then also required for the organization of an employee party at the end of the introductory week, because this is also the responsibility of the new trainees.
Professional and human training
satis&fy has been training new commers since 2001. It is for importance for satis&fy to train their trainees a wide range of basic skills, so the newcomers realize their potential creative side as well. Whether in the field of lighting, audio, video technology, event architecture, logistics or project management, the training at satis&fy offers thorough and comprehensive training in all training occupations. It is important for training manager Kai Bilges, who takes care of the trainees since 2006, that the right candidates for satis&fy were found again this year: "We attach great importance to finding young people who match with us. That's why we take a close look beforehand, invite our pre-selected candidates to join us and test their general knowledge, motivation and preferences. In doing so, we pay attention to honesty as well as to self-confidence and flexibility, because we are especially looking for young, creative, a little crazy people who can help us, who can contribute and broaden our horizons. So far this has paid off for us. We have great junior staff!
Karben Open Air 2019
At the end of August, the annual Karben Open Air Festival was on the program for the Karben apprentices. This offered them the perfect opportunity to get right into the life of the event and to take on responsibility for the first time. "We demand early responsibility from our young event talents, whether towards the company, our colleagues or our customers. This way they learn what they can do, what they want to do and where they want to go," explains Bilges, who pays attention to encouraging his trainees to go through life independently and self-confidently.
